don’t ask me for favorites (poetry by sofia abbas)
don’t ask me for favorites
my fatal flaw is either stubbornness or indecision.
un-agreeable traits, they tug o’ war
divorced to opposite ends of the same leash.
I can’t say what my most favorite scent is,
I only know I wish to find the phantom
of my ma’s Arabian jasmine in every room I enter.
I am not sure of anything, importance regardless,
but I have a jasmine bloom and bud punctured into my
forearm;
that must count for something.
