take me to church // Ezra Gatlin // Poetry
take me to church
let's starve in our bed.
pewter-handled plastic,
the only cathedral with any holy left.
tearing open the stomachs of crows
who thought they could have me, too.
you restitch my bones,
my hard edges and my crown of thorns.
i am fundamentally broken.
you make everything okay.
